“Monthly Events Reminder”

Dear Member,

As you are aware our squadron offers many opportunities for us to enjoy our boats. These opportunities are expressed through taking advantage of the many courses and seminars available in educating ourselves to the ways of boating. Also, our squadron offers many social agendas, on land and sea, that allow us to mingle, associate and share similar experiences with other boaters. This is a friendly reminder of those upcoming courses, seminars and social events for the month of September. You will also find this information, and much more, at our squadron website at www.southshoreps.org. If you have any questions please feel free to call your mentor or myself.

As an additional feature, this newly revised course includes a digital chart training CD and instructional material on modern navigational techniques as well.
This course meets state specific and National Association of State Boating Law Administrators requirements for certification. Completion of the course is accepted by most insurance companies. Since 1914, individual squadrons of USPS have provided courses as a service to the boating public to over 3 million boaters.

This is by far one of the biggest and most exciting district level Power Squadron events of the year! The fun begins at 7:00am with a breakfast, fit for a king and queen. After breakfast come join us for a district meeting where information about Power Squadron events will be shared, awards will be given out and a special ceremony saying goodbye to the past District Bridge, including our own Bob Messineo, and welcoming the new District 3 bridge members, who will be taking the helm as District 3 Commander!!! Lot’s of fun and laughs.
After the district meeting you can join in on one of many seminars covering a wide range of Power Squadron topics from education to membership involvement and much more. Then, starting at around 3pm we have a “land raft-up” with other squadrons in our district. This is a hospitality event where all Power Squadron members walk to each squadron hospitality suite and join in on the festivities.  Food and drinks are abundant and the comradery and laughter is fantastic. Meet members from all 18 squadrons, of District 3, and have a great time. Later that night join us for the District 3 Annual Dinner Dance. Dine and dance in the beautiful main ballroom to the music of “Sweet Surrender” band.
This is definitely an entire day of fun, food and cheer! Don’t miss out! Contact our Commander Antoine Basta for more details and information at (516) 680-6393.
