  CO AWARENESS BROCHURES

Dear Distinguished Council Members and RBS partners,

As you know, we are diligently working to reduce carbon monoxide (CO) hazards in recreational boating by encouraging industry to develop control technologies and by raising the level of CO awareness among the boating public through a public information campaign. As discussed at the last few NBSAC meetings, we feel the awareness effort is one of the most effective means to reduce casualties in the near term while the ultimate technological solutions are being fielded.

Attached (see below)to this e-mail you will find our latest CO public awareness materials, including a tri-fold brochure, a poster in two sizes, and a warning label suitable for printing on adhesive-backed stock. These files are intended for free, unrestricted use by all boating interest groups and the general public for the purpose of raising the level of CO awareness and related risks.

Although these items will not ultimately solve the CO-poisoning problem, we feel they will complement the other great materials many of you have developed to help educate the public on the dangers associated with CO on and around recreational boats.

We owe a heartfelt THANKS to all of you for your efforts in helping us with this initiative, as well as your continued passion for recreational boating safety!

As I've said numerous times before, we could not successfully do our jobs without your help and support.

As always, should you have questions, comments or suggestions, please continue to send them our way.

They will definitely be considered in future efforts.
